With Over $5.1 Trillion on the Line Today, Will You Vote?
What?!?!?! Over $5.1 trillion is on the line today?
Yup, but don't take my word for it.
Open your favorite AI app and ask the two following questions:
š„ What is the fiscal 2026/2027 budget of the U.S. federal budget?
š„ What is the combined fiscal 2026/2027 budget of all 50 states and the five U.S. inhabited territories of the United States?
And the answers you should receive are
šŗ ~$1.8 trillion and
šŗ ~$3.3 trillion, ergo,
šŗ ~$5.1 trillion, in combined budgets between the U.S. government and the state governments across the United States.
In other words, even though U.S. citizens are not being asked to elect a U.S. President today, citizens in
š 39 states and territories are voting for governors,
š While in 50 states and territories, citizens are voting for state legislators.
{AUTHOR'S NOTE: And the $5.1 trillion does NOT include the combined budgets of the myriad cities and counties across the U.S., which (conservatively), is another $1.2 trillion to $1.3 trillion!!!}
Between the races across the entire country, that's significantly greater than ~$5.1 trillion in play today.
Simply put, i f you're eligible to vote today, and you don't vote, don't come complaining to me.
Me?
I already voted:
š£ Filled-out the Vote-by-Mail ballot, then
š£ Dropped it off at the nearby city library.
The bottom line?
Get out and vote today (if you haven't done so already).
It actually does matter.
David
P.S. for my Utah Friends: The Polls opened at 7am MT today and close tonight at 8pm MT. Go vote!!!
